Who Is This Son Spoken Of In The Old Testament

December 19

There are several "Old Testament" references to the SON of God.

"Who has ascended into heaven, or descended?

Who has gathered the wind in his fists?
Who has bound the waters in a garment?
Who has established all the ends of the earth?
What is his name, and what is his Son’s name,
If you know?"
Proverbs 30:4

Yes - who is the SON of the God who established all the ends of the earth?

In another passage:

"Kiss the Son lest he be angry,

and you perish in the way,
when his wrath is kindled but a little.
Blessed are all those who put their trust in him."
Psalm 2:12

Who is the SON in whom we are to put our trust?

This SON is called "mighty God," and "everlasting Father." There is only one Son who is both God and the everlasting Father:

"For unto us a Child is born,

unto us a Son is given;
and the government will be upon his shoulder.
And his name will be called
Wonderful, Counselor, Mighty God,
Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace."
Isaiah 9: 6

The testimony of the Old Testament showed that he who was born in Bethlehem is the one who is from eternity.

“But you, Bethlehem Ephrathah,

though you are little among the thousands of Judah,
yet out of you shall come forth to me
the One to be Ruler in Israel,
whose goings forth are from of old,
from everlasting.”
Micah 5:2

There was enough testimony in the Old Testament for scholars to realize who this Son is. They rejected him, but we put all our trust in him, and as such, we are the greatly blessed.
